CoRe Racing is working hard to maintain its status as a premier SimRacing team. We’ve achieved our current status by being selective over who we add to the team. Some of the principles that a CoRe-worthy driver possesses are as follows:

  • Clean, consistent driving: This is of utmost importance. You don’t have to be perfect, but if you can’t race without hitting people, don’t bother applying here!
  • Speed: CoRe Racing, individually and as a team, participates in many leagues and events and speed is important to that effort. You don’t have to be one of the “elite” to join, but you do need to be competitive.
  • Attitude: CoRe expects its drivers to conduct themselves in a respectful manner, both in servers and outside SimRacing. Only drivers that appear to fit well with the existing members will be added. Because of our members’ involvement in various leagues, the team has high exposure, and we won’t tolerate behavior that reflects unfavorably on the team.

It should be noted that individuals are added to the team based on not only driving skill, but also on special skills that help add to the quality of the team. CoRe Racing management sometimes feels it necessary to take some time to get to know a driver to determine whether the driver fits the team well. To do this, we sometimes will conditionally add a recruit to the team on a trial basis so that we can properly evaluate a potential teammate. The following guidelines have been established to clearly define what is expected of each recruit during the trial process.

  1. Duration: As a general guide, the typical trial period will last two to four weeks. In some cases, the evaluation period may take a shorter amount of time and in others it may take longer. Depending on various circumstancs, such as recruit and/or CoRe driver availability, CoRe driver/team league commitments, technical issues, and the acutal evaluation results, CoRe Racing management reserves the right to adjust the trial period duration as needed.
  2. Online Tag & Skins: While online, a CoRe Racing recruit shall use the following tag format that reflects his/her “recruit” status: rCoRe F.Lastname The “rCoRe” shall be in black letters, and the “F.Lastname” shall be in yellow. Colors can be temporarily adjusted as required by league/race admins. If generic CoRe skins are available, the recruit is permitted to use them. Otherwise, recruits should use the basic LFS colors application using any reasonable combination of red/yellow/orange/black/white.
  3. Conduct: If a recruit has been granted trial status, team management requires that the recruit use the same professional and ethical conduct as any other CoRe team driver. (i.e. You can still be yourself, of course, just don’t go around wrecking and verbally abusing people.)
  4. Forums Access: During the trial period, CoRe recruits will have limited access to the private sections of the forums. These will include areas where the team discusses setups and strategy for the various team based leagues the drivers are involved in. All information in the private sections is to remain private at all times. Access is given in good faith that the recruit will treat that access as a priviledge and not a given right.
  5. Evaluation Process: Depending on the nature of the interest in the recruit by the team, an appropriate evaluation of driving skill, conduct, communication, and any other special skills or assets the recruit can bring to the team. An expectation and general scheme of the evaluation will be given to each recruit upon the start of the evaluation. Recruits are reminded that a decision may not only be made on actual performance during the evaluation, but also any potential talents (or problems) that team members notice.

Current and potential recruits are encouraged to be active in all of the CoRe Racing mediums of communication and interaction: forums, MSN/AOL IM’s, IRC, Ventrilo, and our two LFS Servers: “www.CoRe-Racing.com” and “CoRe-Racing Private”.
